WHITNEY RICHARDS NAMED ATLANTIC 10 CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA-Sophomore midfielder Whitney Richards has been voted the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week for the week ending April 30.  This is the first player of the week honor for Richards.

Richards had two big games for Temple over the weekend, netting four goals and assisting on three others to give the Owls a huge 19-9 win over St. Bonaventure on Friday afternoon. The sophomore was 100% accurate, taking only four shots.  In TU's narrow loss to Duquesne, Richards led Temple with four goals and two assists, taking just six shots.  She now has dished 22 assists on the season, which is ranked fifth on Temple's all-time list for assists in a season.

Temple enters the 2006 Atlantic 10 Tournament as the #2 seed and will take on the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at George Washington's Mount Vernon Sports Complex.
