PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University freshman Danielle Fagan and junior Adrienne Repsher were among the honorees as the Atlantic 10 announced its 2006 All-Conference Softball Teams.  Fagan, who set a school single-season record with eight homeruns, was named to the Conference's All-Rookie Team while Repsher was selected to the league's Academic All-Conference team.

Fagan, a native of Lester, PA (Interboro HS), played and started 44 games at shortstop for the Owls who posted a 22-23 overall record and placed fifth in the A-10 with a 12-6 mark.  She ranked third on the team with a .325 batting average, recording team highs in hits (40), runs (24), doubles (9), homers, RBI (29) and slugging (.593).  Repsher, a native of Nazareth, PA (Nazareth Area), compiled a 3.83 cumulative grade point average as an elementary education major.  The three-year starting first baseman ranked fourth on the team with a .302 batting average, including 18 runs, seven doubles, three homeruns and 16 RBI.

A pair of University of Massachusetts rookies swept the major awards with freshman infielder Whitney Mollica and classmate Brandice Balschmiter being named the 2006 Atlantic 10 Softball Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, in voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches. Mollica was also tabbed as the Rookie of the Year. This is the first time in A-10 history that a freshman has been named the Player of the Year in A-10 softball.

In that same vote, St. Bonaventure's Mike Threehouse was named Coach of the Year. Additionally, junior shortstop Elana Meyers of George Washington was named Student-Athlete of the Year in voting among the Conference's sports information directors.

Joining Mollica, Balschmiter and Meyers on the All-Conference first-team are Amanda Morin, Candice Molinari and KJ Kelley of UMass; Charlotte's Cee Brooks, Sarah Malene, Kristi Killough and Kristen Bowen; Gina Capardi, Katie Davis and Krystle Henry of Fordham; and St. Bonaventure's Brianna Bricker.

The second-team consists of Evan Miller and Lauren Schmitz of Charlotte; Dayton's Mollie Schrank; Fordham's Allison Twarowski, Laura Klaiber, Allison Storc, Lisa Busciacco and Sara Kinney; La Salle's Kelli Curcio; Lauren Proctor of Massachusetts; Rhode Island's Courtney Wall and Christine Gentile; and Lauren Krieger and Christine Keleher of St. Bovaventure.

The All-Rookie team includes Balschmiter and Mollica along with Brooks, Capardi, Curcio, Malene, Schrank, Fagan and Rhode Island's Stefani Poedubicky.

Meyers garners Student-Athlete of the Year honors along with her first-team All-Conference accolades. The junior shortstop from Douglasville, GA, led George Washington in batting (.414), runs (39), hits (65), doubles (13), triples (7), RBI (29), total bases (104), slugging percentage (.662) and stolen bases (22). She is joined on the Academic All-Conference team by Fordham's Lisa Busciacco and Laura Klaiber; Joelle and Kristin Brunetto and Lauren Krieger of St. Bonaventure; Repsher; Ashlee Heady and Ashley Levan of Saint Louis; and Candice Molinari and Lauren Proctor of Massachusetts.
