KURASHIMA NAMED TO A-10 WOMEN'S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University junior Yuri Kurashima was named to the 2006 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis All-Conference team in a voting conducted by the Conference's head coaches following the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship. Kurashima was the lone Owl selected to the 12-member squad.
The Tokyo native led the Owls with a 20-9 singles record, including an impressive 12-3 mark at the number one slot. She also posted 18 wins against 11 losses in doubles action. In A-10 Tournament action, she compiled a 3-1 record at first doubles and a 1-0 mark at number one singles. Temple won three of its four matches in the tournament held April 21-23 at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA to earn fifth place in the championship.
Overall, Temple finished with a 13-12 record under second-year head coach Traci Green. It marked the team's first winning campaign since 1999-2000.
