SOFTBALL FALLS TO CHARLOTTE IN FINAL GAME OF REGULAR SEASON

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Temple softball team fell to Charlotte, 5-3, Saturday afternoon in the completion of a game halted due to weather Friday. With the loss, the Owls fall to 22-23 overall, and 12-6 in conference play. Temple needs a Rhode Island win over St, Bonaventure or a George Washngton sweep of Fordham Sunday in order to qualify for next week's Atlantic 10 Tournament to be held at Ambler Field starting on May 11.

The 49ers exploded in the fourth inning, scoring four runs. Rightfielder Kristy Kilough started
The Cherry and White responded with a run in the fifth. Sophomore Brittany Burks doubled to right field and scored on a sacrifice by pitcher Ashleigh Porter. The 49ers answered back with another run in the sixth.
The Owls got back on the board in the seventh when Burks blasted the ball over the left field fence for a homer, but that was all the Cherry and White could muster.
