FRENGS NAMED OWLSPORTS.COM ATHLETE OF THE MONTH FOR MAY

PHILADELPHIA-After leading the Owls to the 2006 Women's lacrosse Atlantic 10 Championship game, junior midfielder Allison Frengs has been selected as May's Owlsports.com Athlete of the Month. Frengs was voted First Team IWLCA/US Lacrosse Regional All-American as well as All-Atlantic 10 Conference in early May.
The Collingswood, N.J. native netted seven goals and had two assists in the 2006 Atlantic 10 Tournament to earn her a spot on the A-10 All-Championship Team. Frengs scored five goals in the semi-final round to give the Owls an 11-9 come from behind win over the Bonnies and advance to the Conference final.
The 2005 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, Frengs led the Temple squad in scoring with 35 goals and 17 assists. She netted a season-high five goals against St. Bonaventure and had four goals and one assist to propel Temple to a win over George Washington in the regular season. A member of the 2005 A-10 All-Conference Team, Frengs ranked first in draw controls (36), second in groundballs (39) and tied for fourth in caused turnovers with 15.
Temple ended the season with a 10-8 overall record and a 5-2 A-10 record, after narrowly falling to Richmond in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
