PHILADELPHIA -- Eight Temple University student-athletes, including four from the men's crew team, were named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area spring sports teams announced Sunday, June 25. The eight brings the overall total to 18 Temple student-athletes honored in the first year of the program's existence. Protesto, who compiled a 3.82 cumulative grade point average as a mathematics major, and Cammarata (3.54, Pharmacy), rowed on the Owls' Varsity 8 boat while Gennaro (3.57, Communications) and Powers (3.55, History/Political Science), were members of the Second Varsity 8.
Senior Kristen Hermann, who earned a 3.62 cumulative grade point average as a Communication/Journalism major, was the lone women's crew honoree from Temple while seniors Matt Kobialka (3.73, History) and Ana Maslesa (3.32 English/Secondary Education) represented Temple in men's track and women's tennis, respectively.
