PHILADELPHIA -- Head coach David Jones and the Temple women's Ssoccer team have announced their schedule for the 2006 season. The Owls, looking to improve upon their 4-13-2 record posted in 2005, will start off at the Akron Preseason Tournament held August 16-18. Other teams participating are Akron, Cincinnati, and Wright State. Following that, Temple returns home to host the Owl Eyes Classic August 25 and 26, in which they will face Bucknell and Pittsburgh.
The Owls will start their regular season at home against Maine on September 1. Maine is coming off an 11-6-2 season and a second place finish in the American East Conference. Other non-conference opponents include UMBC, Drexel, Manhattan, Wagner, Penn and Monmouth.
The Owls will visit Saint Louis, the 2005 Atlantic 10 champions, on Oct. 22, as well as Charlotte, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, and Duquesne. The Owls will host Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Fordham and St. Bonaventure. The Owls will wrap up their season at the Atlantic 10 tournament to be held at Saint Louis beginning on November 2 and 3.
