Casey Dickson's Softball Clinic
PHILADELPHIA - Temple softball head coach Casey Dickson will be conducting instructional clinics beginning August 29th through October 5th.
The instructional sessions, available to players of all ages, will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and will feature lessons in hitting, pitching and fielding. All sessions are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and last until sunset. However, sessions being conducted in September will begin prior to 6:30 p.m. due to less sunlight.
Dickson, in her first year at the helm of Temple softball, coached the team to a 22-23 overall mark and a 12-6 Atlantic 10 finish. After improving the team batting average from .206 in 2005 to .282 in 2006, the Owls finished the season ranked 5th in the Atlantic 10.
Dickson, a four-year letterwinner at Oklahoma University, set single-season school records in homeruns (17) and RBI (61) her senior season in 1997. As the first OU player to garner All-Midwest Region honors three consecutive years (1995-1997), Dickson finished her career atop several offensive categories including homeruns (27), RBI (166), total bases (337) and walks (118).
