Philadelphia -
Cori Gallagher blasted in a free kick from 26 yards out to give Temple its second win of the year, a 1-0 victory over Wagner on Sunday afternoon. The Owls improve to 2-5, while Wagner falls to 0-6.
Play was fairly even in the first half, with both sides taking five shots, though neither team could convert. The Owls came out firing in the second half, however, taking eight shots to Wagner's two and were able to find the back of the net for just the second time this season. Temple earned a penalty kick just 10 minutes into the second stanza and Gallagher put it over the wall from 26 yards out. The Owls were able to hold on to preserve the shutout.
Liz Tarasevich earned four saves in her second shutout, while Wagner's Ashley Wilson had six.
Temple returns home to face Penn on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Ambler Field.
