Temple Falls, 2-0, to Charlotte in A-10 Opener

The Temple women's soccer team opened Atlantic 10 play on a sour note, falling 2-0 to Charlotte on Friday night. Kelsie Ormsby and Rachel Mees scored for the 49ers as they improve to 6-3-2 on the season. Temple falls to 3-7-0.
Ormsby scored the game's first goal at the 27:45 mark of the match.Mees found Ormsby near the right post and Ormsby put a shot into the back of the net just inside the box.
Mees scored the 49ers second goal off a long pass from Harris down the right side of the field. Mees took the pass in full stride and beat a Temple defender into the box to put a shot past Temple's charging goalkeeper Liz Tarasevich into the lower left corner of the goal at the 79:33 mark.
The two teams finished the game with nine shots apiece. Both Tarasevich and 49er keeper Juli Black made five saves in goal.
Temple continues its A-10 road trip with a match against Richmond on Sunday at 1 p.m.
