Kursahima, Clermont Fall In Cornell Winter Invite Finals

Senior Yuri Kurashima fell to Cornell sophomore Elizabeth Googe, 6-1, 6-1 in the singles flight A championship match at the Cornell Winter Invite Sunday afternoon. A similar fate befell Kurashima in the double championship match of flight A as she and freshman Christine Clermont lost to Columbia's Angela Henry and Anna Varney, 8-3.
Kurashima won three matches over the weekend, including a semifinal win over teammate, Dina Senkina, 6-4, 2-6 (10-6), in an intense semifinal match Saturday. She and Clermont won two matches to advance to the finals.
The women's tennis team opens its home portion of its 2007 spring schedule with a Saturday match (3:15 pm) against Richmond at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Court. Below are the Temple results from the Invite.
