Christine Clermont Earns A-10 Rookie of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Temple freshman Christine Clermont has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 28. Clermont teamed with senior Yuri Kurashima to advance to the flight A doubles finals at the Cornell Winter Invite over the weekend.
A native of Miami Shores, FL (Miami Country Day School), Clermont posted a 2-1 singles record and advanced to the flight B semifinals. With the veteran Kurashima as her partner, she compiled a 2-1 doubles record before falling in the finals.
Clermont had a solid fall season for head coach Traci Green's Owls. Her best outing came at the Newport News Invitational when she won four flight B singles matches before falling in the finals.
The Temple women's tennis team opens its home schedule this Saturday when they host Richmond at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center. The match starts at 3:15 p.m.
