La Salle Shuts Out Women's Soccer, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA- Temple goalkeeper Kara Williams recorded eight saves, but La Salle registered 12 shots on goal in route to a 3-0 win today at McCarthy Stadium. With the loss, the Owls fall to 5-6-3 (1-4-1 A-10), while the Explorers improve to 8-5-0 (2-3-0 A-10).
It didn't take long for the Explorers to strike first as Kristen Hextall scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season in just the third minute of the game. Hextall leads the Explorers in scoring with 22 points.
The Owls would keep the game close until the 36th minute when La Salle's Carissa Phillips scored the first of her two goals on the afternoon. Her second goal came in the 55th minute, cementing the victory for the Explorers.
Along with the effort by Williams, Jenna Rankin led the Owls' offense with two shots on goal.
The Owls have now lost four of their last five games and will look to break the streak as they host Duquesne at Ambler Field on Friday, at 3 PM.
