• Temple Game Captains: #93 RE Leyon Azubuike (defense), #59 Alex Derenthal (offense), #13 QB Adam DiMichele (offense), #9 Anthony Ferla (defense), and #37 DB Abioye Oyeyemi (special teams).
• Carrying flags for Temple today were #66 OT Andre Douglas, #2 ATH Daryl Robinson, and #27 DB Jamal Schulters.
• Tonight's24-20 win over Akron is Temple's second consecutive win and second win in Mid-American Conference play. The last time the Owls won back-to-back games was in October 2002 when they beat Syracuse (17-16) and Connecticut (38-24).
• The last time Temple won back-to-back conference games was November 1967 when the Owls beat Bucknell (13-8) and Gettysburg (45-27) as members of the Middle Atlantic Conference. That season Temple finished a perfect 4-0 in conference play to claim the 1967 MAC championship under head coach George Makris.
• Freshman RE Morris Blueford's interception in the third quarter is the first of his career.
• Freshman ATH Daryl Robinson made a career-high 20 rushes.
• R-junior QB Adam DiMichele's 34-yard rush in the third quarter is the longest of his career. His 62 rushing yards was also a career-high.
• Sophomore WR Dy'Onne Crudup had a career-high 8 receptions for a career-high 74 yards. He also tied his career-high with one TD reception.
• Junior WR Bruce Francis has made a reception in 23 consecutive games.
• R-junior C Alex Derenthal has started 30 consecutive games.
• Sixteen freshmen, including 14 true freshmen, saw action in tonight's game.
• A season-high seven true freshman (RE Morris Blueford, RG Derek Dennis, DB Jaiquawn Jarrett, OLB Amara Kamara, LG Colin Madison, ATH Daryl Robinson, CB Jamal Schulters) started tonight's game.
• Junior TE Kevin Armstrong's two-yard TD reception with 13:22 remaining to play was the first offensive touchdown since the second quarter of the Army game, snapping a string of nine quarters without an offensive touchdown. It was also Armstrong's first career score.
• Sophomore CB Anthony Ferla's interception to end the game was the first of his career
