CLEVELAND - Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele (McKees Rocks, Pa.) has earned Mid-American Conference Offensive co-Player of the Week honors for the East division, the MAC announced on Monday.
In Temple's 24-20 win at Akron, DiMichele led Temple to consecutive conference wins for the first time since 1967 and to its first road win since 2003 by throwing for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Trailing 20-3 to start the final stanza, DiMichele marched the Owls down field. With just 27 seconds on the clock, the redshirt junior tossed a 19-yard, game-winning touchdown pass to Dy'Onne Crudup. DiMichele threw for 112 yards and ran for 37 yards in the final quarter alone. He also had a career-best 62 yards rushing.
On the day, DiMichele completed 23 of 34 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns. For his effort, the Owls' signal caller also earned OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week honors.
DiMichele shared the East division honor with Buffalo running back James Starks.
Riding a two-game winning streak, Temple (2-5, 2-2 MAC) hosts Miami (3-3, 3-0 MAC) in a Noon game on Oct. 20 at Lincoln Financial Field. The game will be televised live by myphl17.
