• Temple Game Captains: #93 RE Leyon Azubuike (defense), #59 Alex Derenthal (offense), #13 QB Adam DiMichele (offense), #16 Jaiquawn Jarrett (special teams).
• Today's victory marked Temple's third consecutive win and third straight MAC win. The last time Temple won three games was 2002. The last time TU won three consecutive games was 1990. The last time Temple won three conference games 1997 (in the Big East). The last time Temple won three consecutive conference games was 1967 when TU went a perfect 4-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference to claim the league crown.
• R-junior QB Adam DiMichele suffered a comminuted fracture of his left tibia while being sacked for an 11-yard loss at the 12-minute mark of the second quarter. He will undergo surgery on Sunday, Oct. 21 with Dr. Ray Moyer at Temple University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. However, the injury is season ending.
• Sophomore QB Vaughn Charlton completed nine-of-13 passes for 109 yards and one TD in relief of DiMichele. The 109 yards is the second most of his career (110 vs. Clemson, 2006)
• Carrying flags for Temple today were #39 FB Josh Bundy, #3 WR Marquise Liverpool, and #98 DT Andre Neblett.
• R-junior C Alex Derenthal has started 31 consecutive games.
• Junior WR Bruce Francis has made a reception in 24 consecutive games.
• DE Junior Galette's forced fumble in the second quarter was his second this season and the second of his career.
• Freshman CB Jamal Schulters' second quarter fumble recovery is the second of his career.
• QB Adam DiMichele's 43-yard reception from WR Bruce Francis was his second career reception and his first reception this season.
• WR Bruce Francis' 61-yard touchdown reception from QB Vaughn Charlton in the third career was a career long.
• Temple's 24-7 lead in the fourth quarter was the Owls' largest lead of the season.
• A season-high 20 freshmen, including 16 true freshmen, saw action in today's game.
• For the second straight week, a season-high seven true freshmen (RE Morris Blueford, RG Derek Dennis, DB Jaiquawn Jarrett, OLB Amara Kamara, LG Colin Madison, ATH Daryl Robinson, CB Jamal Schulters) started today's game.
Note: Prior to today Temple had not won three consecutive conference games in 40 years. However, from 1970 to 1990, the Owls were an independent. Temple played in the Middle Atlantic Conference from 1960-69 and the Big East from 1991-2004. This is Temple's first season in the Mid-American Conference.
