PHILADELPHIA - Four Temple University athletics department administrators - Eric Roedl, Larry Dougherty, Sherryta Freeman and Peter D'Alonzo - have earned promotions, announced Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw.

"We are pleased to reward these four outstanding individuals for their hard work on behalf of Temple University athletics," Bradshaw said. "We strive to have the finest athletics staff in the country, and these four administrators are at the top of their profession in their respective areas."

Roedl, who has served the past four years as an Associate Athletic Director for Business & Finance, has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director. In his role on the Temple staff, he oversees all business, finance, and personnel operations of the University's 24-sport, $25 million Division 1-A athletic program, as well as the external areas of marketing and promotions, ticket operations and corporate sponsorships.

In his fifth year at Temple, Dougherty has been elevated from Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations to Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations. He oversees the media relations of the athletic department and its 24 teams, as well as the television and radio operations, and multimedia content for the department's website, www.owlsports.com.

After serving two years as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, Freeman has been promoted to the position of Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services. Besides overseeing all aspects of Temple's compliance efforts with conference and NCAA rules and regulations, she will also coordinate the department's student services initiatives.

D'Alonzo, who is in his second year at Temple after serving nine years as an academic counselor for student-athletes at the University of Notre Dame, moves from the position of Student Services/Learning Specialist to Assistant Athletic Director for Academics. In this position, he will report directly to the Director of Athletics on NCAA and other academic issues involving the University's 600-plus student-athletes.
