PHILADELPHIA-The women's basketball team opens the 2007-08 season Monday night, hosting Central Michigan. Game time is set for 7 p.m. This is the second meeting between Temple and Central Michigan.  TU leads the series, 1-0, after defeating CMU, 59-53, on December 30, 1991.

LaKeisha Eaddy scored a game-high 19 points, including 10 in the first half, and added three steals but it was not enough as the Temple women's basketball team dropped its exhibition game to The All-Stars, 74-70, on November 7. Ashley Morris chipped in with 15 points and four assists, while Shenita Landry had 12 points, a game-high two blocks and six rebounds. Newcomers Shanea Cotton, Lindsay Kimmel and Marli Bennett were impressive in their Temple debut, with Cotton grabbing a game-high nine rebounds and three steals and Kimmel contributing a solid nine point, six rebound performance.  Bennett contributed five boards and two assists.

Temple is 4-1 against Mid-American Conference teams, with its only loss coming at the hands of Bowling Green on November 24, 2006.

Latisha Luckett registered her first career double-double and four players scored in double-figures as the Central Michigan University women's basketball team won head coach Sue Guevara's debut, 76-71, against the University of Illinois-Chicago at Rose Arena on Friday. Britni Houghton and Angel Chan each scored 16 points for CMU, while Shonda Long added 13 and Luckett 11 to go with a team-high 10 rebounds. After 32 combined turnovers (UIC 17, CMU 15) the two teams combined for just 10 in the second half with five each. CMU finished at 44.1 percent (26-for-59) from the field and 33.3 percent (5-for-15) from behind the arc.
