Delano Green Named MAC Specialist of the Week

CLEVELAND - Temple freshman Delano Green (Fredericksburg, Va.) has earned Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the East division, the MAC announced on Monday.

The wide receiver helped Temple to its fourth MAC win with a 24-14 victory over Kent State. In the game, Green took over punt return duties for the first time this season. The true freshman returned five punts for 56 yards, including a team season-high 25-yard return. The wide receiver also had one reception for a career-long 18 yards in the third quarter.

Green has played in all 11 games this fall. Green is the fifth Owl to receive conference recognition this fall. Quarterback Adam DiMichele (McKees Rocks, Pa.) earned MAC Offensive co-Player of the Week honors on Oct. 15, while tackle Terrance Knighton (Windsor, Conn.) and kicker Jake Brownell (Thorfare, N.J.) were recognized on Oct. 8, and DE Junior Galette (Spring Valley, N.Y.) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 22.

Additionally, freshman Daryl Robinson (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named the OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week. The all-purpose athlete helped Temple to its fourth MAC win of the season, the first time since 1967 that the Owls have won four conference games. Against Kent State, Robinson led all Owl rushers with a career-high 105 yards on 17 carries, marking the true freshman's first 100-yard rushing performance. He also made a 10-yard reception.

After 11 games, Robinson stands second in rushing with 334 yards on 79 carries. He also has 171 receiving yards on 16 receptions. Robinson has 11 punt returns for 23 yards and 80 yards on six kick returns.

Temple (4-7, 4-3 MAC) closes out the 2007 season at Western Michigan (4-7. 2-4 MAC) on Saturday, Nov. 24. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Waldo Stadium.
