CLEVELAND - Temple juniors WR Bruce Francis (Sicklerville, N.J.) and DT Terrance Knighton (Windsor, Conn.) were named to Phil Steele Publications' 2007 All-Mid-American Conference Third Team. The duo helped the Owls to a 4-8 overall record and a 4-4 mark during their inaugural season in the MAC.

A starter in nine games, Francis led all Temple receivers with 47 catches for 731 yards in 10 games. His 61-yard touchdown reception from QB Vaughn Charlton in the win over Miami (OH) was a career long. At Ohio, Francis made a career-high eight receptions. He was named the offensive player of the game against Bowling Green by the coaching staff. Francis has made a reception in 26 consecutive games.

Knighton was the recipient of the defensive most valuable player honor at the team's annual banquet. A starter in 11 games, he recorded the first two fumble recoveries of his career at Army. The tackle also broke up a pass, blocked a field goal, and added a sack. He recovered his third career fumble against Northern Illinois, ran the ball 66 yards, and scored his first career touchdown. For his efforts, Knighton was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week. In the final game of the season, Knighton blocked two kicks. He finished with 56 tackles, 8.5 TFL, three sacks, and a team-best three fumble recoveries.

Earlier this month, Temple sophomores DT Andre Neblett (Rahway, N.J.) and DB Dominique Harris (Washington, D.C.) were named to the 2007 All-Mid-American Conference teams as selected by the MAC head coaches. Placekicker Jake Brownell (Thorofare, N.J.) earned Academic All-MAC honors.
