Temple - Virginia Lacrosse Game Postponed

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple lacrosse game against Virginia, scheduled for Sunday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Geasey Field, has been postponed over mutual concerns of inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m.
Tomorrow's game was to be the first of the 2007 campaign for the Cherry and White, as well as the debut of new Temple head coach Bonnie Rosen. Rosen arrives on North Broad Street following 10 seasons at Connecticut, where she was integral in starting the Huskie program from scratch in 1997.
Ironically, Rosen's first game on the sidelines in Owl Country was to come against her alma mater. As a four-year (1989-92), two-sport athlete (field hockey), Rosen garnered All-America honors while leading the Cavaliers to their first lacrosse National Championship in 1991.
Rosen, and first-year assistant coach Nicole Moore, inherit a veteran-laden squad featuring six seniors and seven juniors. The Cherry and White are led offensively by senior midfielders Allison Frengs (35G, 17A, 52P, in 2006) and Casey Cech (32G, 18A, 50P).
Virginia (1-0, 1-0), coached by Rosen's Cavalier teammate Julie Myers, was primed to play the Cherry and White following a 15-2 drubbing of in-state and conference rival Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The Wahoos were led by senior Kate Breslin's six goals while sophomore Ashley McCulloch added two more and four assists.
