Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova Earns A-10 Rookie of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University freshman Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 11. Rukavyshnykova, a native of Kiev, Ukraine, won three singles matches and three doubles matches to help lead the Owls to a 3-0 record on the week.
At the fourth singles position, Rukavyshnykova opened the team's Florida trip with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Toledo's Nadia Zoubereva. Later in the week, she beat Hillsborough Community College's Alba Passanisi in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, and then ended the trip with a victory over Krista Polulak of Florida Gulf Coast University, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles action, Rukavyshnykova teamed up with Sharanya Pattabi at the third spot for two victories against Toledo, 8-6, and Florida Gulf Coast, 8-4. She moved to second doubles with Pattabi against Hillsborough Community College and won 8-4.
Rukavyshnykova currently holds a 5-0 record at fourth singles on the season. She is 2-0 at second doubles and 3-2 at third doubles with Pattabi.
The Owls (9-2) return to action on Saturday, March 17 when they play Duquesne.
