Women's Tennis Falls to Princeton, 5-2

PRINCETON, NJ - The Temple women's tennis team had its five-game win streak snapped Thursday night, falling to No. 72 Princeton, 5-2. Freshmen Radka Ferancova and Christine Clermont earned wins at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively, in the Owls' loss. Temple falls to 10-3 on the season.
In singles action, Radka Ferancova defeated Sarah Huah, 6-7, 6-4, 1-0, at the third slot. Christine Clermont beat Joanna Roth in a tight match, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(1), at the fifth spot.
The duo of Dina Senkina and Radka Ferancova was victorious at No. 2 doubles, but the Owls fell at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, as the Tigers clinched the doubles point.
"We fell to a very solid Princeton team," said Coach Traci Green. "I have no doubt our squad will rally up and bounce back this weekend."
The Owls (10-3) take on two Atlantic 10 rivals in Xavier and George Washington this weekend. They will take on Xavier on Saturday, March 31st (5:00 p.m.) at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center and George Washington on Sunday, April 1st (1:00 p.m.) at the TU Pavilion. The Owls are currently 1-0 in Atlantic 10 competition.
