TAMPA, FL - Freshman Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova and senior Sharanya Pattabi helped lead the Owls to a 5-2 victory over Hillsborough Community College on Tuesday in Tampa, Florida. The victory marks the third-straight, and eighth-overall, for the Owls.
In singles action, freshman Radka Ferancova defeated Mizuho Nishimura, 6-4, 6-3, at the second spot. Freshman Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova bested Alba Passanisi in a close match at the fourth position, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Senior Sharanya Pattabi and freshman Whitney Tillman each notched a victory at the fifth and sixth slots, respectively.
Temple won its eighth doubles point of the season, as the duos of Pattabi/Rukavyshnykova and Kurashima/Tillman defeated their opponents, 8-4, at the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively.
Temple (8-2) continues its trip with a March 8 match against Florida Gulf Coast (2:00 p.m.).
