Michelle Young Named Assistant Director For Athletic Development

PHILADELPHIA - Michelle Young, a seasoned event marketing professional experienced in event operations, client relationships and promotional plan development, has been named as the Assistant Director for Athletic Development at Temple University.
Young, a 2002 graduate of the University of Florida, started her professional career as an account coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles. Following a year in which she managed VIP events while developing and implementing sales strategies, she accepted a position as a tour manager with Paoli, Pa.-based AND 1 Basketball.
In her role at AND 1, Young integrated and coordinated diverse activities required to support domestic and international tours to promote brand recognition of the company. After two successful years, she was elevated to tour director with responsibilities that included designing and executing a promotional strategy for the six-month brand recognition tour. She also oversaw a $3 million budget while managing a travel staff of 25 employees.
In April 2006, Young left AND 1 to become event marketing manager of PokerMatic, Inc. In her role at the Aston, Pa.-based firm, she managed product launches, overall venue plans, account relationships and booth, operational and marketing strategy at tradeshows.
