PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's tennis team earned the top seed in this week's Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship taking place at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA. The Owls (14-3) will take on the winner of the Rhode Island-George Washington match, Friday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m.

Vying for its fourth A-10 Championship and first since 2003, Temple is led by senior Yuri Kurashima, a first-team All-Conference selection in 2006 who has won 23 matches in singles action this season.

Richmond seeks to become the first program to win four consecutive A-10 titles since Virginia Tech won five straight crowns from 1996-00. The second-seeded Spiders are led by sophomore Pamela Duran, a two-time Player of the Week selection who garnered Most Outstanding Rookie honors a year ago.

Three-time A-10 Rookie of the Week honoree Ana Spivakovsky will look to secure No. 3 Charlotte's first-ever league title. The 49ers fell to Richmond, 4-0, in the finals of the 2006 Championship.

The seeds for the 2007 Championship are Temple (first), Richmond (second), Charlotte (third), Massachusetts (fourth), Xavier (fifth), Duquesne (sixth), Saint Louis (seventh), George Washington (eighth), Rhode Island (ninth), Dayton (tenth), Fordham (eleventh), St. Bonaventure (twelfth), Saint Joseph's (thirteenth), and La Salle (fourteenth).
