Spunda and Davis Receive A-10 Men's Tennis Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University sophomore Nathan Spunda was named to the 2007 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis All-Conference first team following a vote conducted by the conference's head coaches at the completion of the league championship. Senior captain Daniel Davis received second team all-conference honors for the Owls.
Spunda, a native of Venlo, the Netherlands, was honored to the all-conference team after leading the Owls at the No. 1 spot with a 15-5 singles record. In doubles action, he recorded a 5-7 mark at the No. 2 spot, pairing with two different players, Zach Tobias and Philip Gegenheimer. Spunda also received the A-10 Player of the Week honor on February 19.
Davis, a senior from Harlem, NY, was named to the all-conference second team after posting an 8-4 record at second singles. He compiled a doubles record of 5-3, competing at No. 1 and 3 doubles with sophomore Eduardo Saavedra.
Temple finished with a 9-13 overall record under second-year head coach Steve Mauro.
