ST. LOUIS, MO - The Temple softball team (14-17, 7-6) dropped just its third game in the last 11 outings following a 3-1 Atlantic 10 loss at Saint Louis' Billiken Sports Center Friday night. Senior Jessica Rohn collected two hits and tallied the Owls' lone RBI in the loss.

Saint Louis (23-29, 8-6) junior hurler Ashley Levan (10-9) struck out 13 Temple batters en route to tallying a complete game for SLU. Despite the loss, Owls junior pitcher Brianna Dairy (4-4) lasted all six innings while striking out three and scattering three hits.

After a scoreless three and a half innings, of which the Cherry and White left one batter on base at the end of each frame, the Billikens initiated the game's scoring with two runs on two hits and two Temple miscues in the fourth inning. Sophomore Annie Dillinger's fielder's choice plated the host's first run before freshman Rachel O'Connell added another run-scoring fielder's choice. One costly throwing error and fielding error were charged to Dairy's bill in the inning.

The Cherry and White in-turn cut the Billiken lead in half in the following top half of the fifth. With two outs and nobody on base, junior Natalie Wagner ignited a Temple rally with a single through the left side of the infield. After advancing to second on a pass ball, Rohn's subsequent RBI single into centerfield plated the Owls' lone run.

Temple would see just two more base runners the rest of the way as the Billikens added an insurance tally in the home half of the sixth. With one out in the seventh, junior Anna Rico's infield single turned fruitless.

Senior All-America candidate Adrienne Repsher collected one hit in three at-bats, the 19th time the left-hander has tallied at least one hit in the last 21 contests.

The Owls will look to rebound in the series' second game set for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (EST).
