PHILADELPHIA - Despite four goals from senior Allison Frengs, the Temple lacrosse team (6-10, 4-3) will prepare for next weekend's Atlantic 10 Tournament on the heels of an 11-8 regular season finale loss at Saint Joseph's Sunday afternoon. Freshman Jenna Martino tallied five scores for the Hawks in the win.

Although the Cherry and White held a three shot advantage heading into intermission, Saint Joseph's held a one-goal cushion, 5-4, at the half way point. Martino initiated the game's scoring before the Owls ran off three of the next four tallies courtesy of Frengs, senior Johna Capaldo and junior Berkley Summerlin. Frengs and Summerlin found the back of the net on free position chances while Capaldo's score went unassisted.

Following Summerlin's goal, the Hawks ran off three straight tallies en route to a two-goal lead with less than 30 ticks remaining in the half. Martino's second and third score were complimented by senior Suzanne Finley's unassisted tally. Temple sophomore Brittney Hoffman sliced the Hawks' lead in half just one second shy of the first half's conclusion.

SJU (7-9, 2-5) raced to a seven-goal lead, at 11-4, with six unanswered scores over the first 17 and a half minutes of the second stanza. Junior Lindsey-Kate McCool, following two more tallies from Martino, collected two goals in 73 seconds.

However, the Cherry and White, led by first-year head coach Bonnie Rosen, wouldn't go quietly as Frengs deposited three of the game's next four scores as the lead was cut to three. Her last goal, with just under one minute remaining, proved to be too little too late for the Owls. Junior Hillary Richards added Temple's fourth goal of the half.

Defensively, junior goalkeeper Bridget McMullan split time in the net with freshman Jessica Colucci. Colucci tallied a team-best two stops.

For the Hawks, sophomore Suzy Herlihy posted eight saves in the win.

Next up, the Cherry and White will await their seeding in next weekend's Atlantic 10 Tournament, hosted at Temple's Geasey Field.
