PHILADELPHIA - Temple senior 1B Adrienne Repsher has been named The Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Softball Performer of the Year, voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Repsher and teammate Courtney Norene are two of the 11 student-athletes selected to The Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Softball Team.

Repsher's latest accolade comes on the heels of several others resulting from the 2007 season. Before graduating as an elementary/early childhood education major with a 3.87 cumulative GPA, Repsher was also named the College of Education's Student of the Year, Temple's Female Student-Athlete of the Year, first team ESPN The Magazine District II All-Academic, the Atlantic 10 co-Student Athlete of the Year and Academic All-Conference.

Repsher's performance in between the chalk was equally as impressive. After batting a league-best .456, hitting a Temple record 13 home runs and shattering several career and single-season marks, Repsher was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, named to the conference's first team and honored as a first team Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection. Twice named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, Repsher also led the A-10 in slugging percentage (.951) and on-base percentage (.578) while boasting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Norene, a kinesiology major with a 3.63 cumulative GPA, finished the season batting .333 with eight home runs and 30 RBI. Norene, once named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, will enter her junior season ranked in a tie for third place on Temple's all-time home run list with 12.

Repsher and Norene were joined on the Academic All-Area Softball Team by Widener's Stephanie Caulford, Arcadia's Jennifer Compton, Univ. of Sciences' Brittany Ebersole, Laura Flint and Megan Trimble, Neumann's Caitlin Hanrahan, Penn's Annie Kinsey and Olivia Mauro and Rowan's Jen Lake.
