PHILADELPHIA, PA - ESPN college football analyst and former Detroit Lions' great Chris Spielman will headline the 2007 MAC Football Media Preview at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. on Wednesday, July 25th. This will mark the first time the Mid-American Conference has staged its media preview at the state-of-the -art facility and home of the 2007 Marathon MAC Football Championship. Once again, the MAC and XOS Technologies will stream the media preview live as part of the conference's All-MACess package on www.mac-sports.com. The MAC Football Media Preview will air live from 9:30-11:30 a.m ET, while the XOS MAC Football Kickoff Luncheon can be seen live from 12:15-1:45 p.m. ET. Both events will be available to the public as part of a free preview to the All-MACess package.

Spielman graduated from Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio, where he was awarded the Dial Award for the national high-school scholar-athlete of the year in 1983. He is a 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in recreation education. He was a two-time All-American, and won the Lombardi Award as the best college football lineman or linebacker. Spielman was drafted 29th in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played eight seasons with the Lions where he led the team in tackles each year. Spielman was a four-time Pro Bowler during his years with the Lions.

Spielman joined ESPN in 2001. He serves as a color analyst for college football broadcasts, as well as studio analysts for college football. Spielman will appear with Sean McDonough on the Friday night games that alternate between ESPN and ESPN2. The media preview will give fans an inside look at the upcoming season of Mid-American Conference football. FOX Sports Net Ohio's Jeff Phelps will once again emcee the event and will also interview the head coaches and players of all 13 MAC schools.

Phelps will also act as emcee for the XOS MAC Football Kickoff Luncheon. Fans will hear more from the league's head coaches along with MAC Commissioner Rick Chryst and Spielman. This will mark the second consecutive year an ESPN on-air personality is featured as the luncheon's keynote speaker. In 2006 former Penn State great Todd Blackledge, part of ESPN's Saturday night prime-time college football package, delivered the keynote address.
