PHILADELPHIA-  Patti Hagel, most recently the Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Affairs for Temple's Fox School of Business, has been hired as the Associate Director of Development, Athletics, announced today by Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw.

"Temple Athletics is excited to welcome Patti Hagel as the newest member of our team, said Associate Athletic Director for Development Shawn Kleitz.  "As an alumnus and former employee of the Fox School of Business, Patti brings experience and enthusiasm to our coaches, student-athletes, fans and supporters.  She's an excellent addition to the staff!"

"I look forward to working with the coaches, student-athletes, alumni and supporters of Temple Athletics," commented Hagel.  "This is an exciting time for the University and I am proud to be a part of it."

A 2001 graduate of TU's Fox School, Hagel returned to the Fox School in June of 2006 as the Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs.  In that position, she coordinated gifts from Fox alumni, friends, parents, faculty and staff through mailings, phonathons, site visits and fundraising campaigns.  Her Temple Down the Shore, Temple on the Road in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh and "Take a Seat" campaigns helped to raise both funds and the alumni participation rate.  Hagel also created the Fox Alumni Update newsletter, planned and ran alumni events, maintained an online community and arranged alumni speakers for Fox business classes and student professional organizations.  The Montgomery County native also worked on a development sub-committee to raise funds for the Alter Hall Alumni Lounge.

Hagel was previously at Philadelphia's Pyramid Club from 2000-06, where she served as the Assistant Membership Director (2000-02) and the Member Relations Director (2002-06).  She helped to increase membership and member retention by organizing "Clubs within the Club" and establishing committees to create events of interest for members, such as the TKO (Totally Kids Only Club), with over 80 members in attendance at each event.  The Pyramid Club representative at all external public events as well as at Board of Governors, Programs and Young Executive Committee meetings, Hagel coordinated a monthly newsletter, flyers and an email List Serv designed to keep Club members abreast of daily events and activities.  She was also responsible for sales generation and quarterly marketing plans aimed at increasing revenue per member, achieving 100% of her total plan in 2005.

An active member of the Philadelphia Women's Rugby Football Club since 2000, Hagel has served as the Club's vice president, fundraising chair and captain.
