THIS WEEK
Temple, under the direction of second-year head coach Al Golden, continues its two-game homestand by hosting Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) opener for both teams. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field.
The Owls' radio broadcast will air on WYSP 94.1 FM with Harry Donahue calling the play-by-play and Steve Joachim providing color analysis. Live gametracker stats and audio streaming will be available on the Temple Athletics website at www.owlsports.com.
The Bulls, under the guidance of second-year head coach Turner Gill, stand 0- 1 after a 38-3 loss at No. 16 Rutgers in the season opener.
Buffalo and Temple met in the 2006 season opener with the Bulls claiming a 9-3 overtime win at home. The game marked the coaching debuts for Golden and Gill.
NEW KIDS IN TOWN
The 2007 campaign marks Temple's first season in the Mid-American Conference. The Owls played the 2005 and 2006 season as an affiliate league member. Temple will compete in the MAC East Division with Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Kent State, Miami and Ohio.
WELCOME TO THE MAC
Temple's contest with Buffalo will mark the Owls' inaugural game in Mid-American Conference play. In the preseason predictions, the MAC News Medica Association selected Temple to finish sixth in the East division this fall.
GOLDEN BOBBLE
Second-year head coach Al Golden will be immortalized with his own Bobblehead Doll when Temple hosts Buffalo. The first 4,000 fans, ages 15 and older, at the game receive a FREE Al Golden Bobblehead Doll, sponsored by Utz Snacks.
TEMPLE-BUFFALO: THE SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the 12th meeting between the Owls and Bulls and the first in MAC play. Buffalo holds a 10-1 advantage in the series which began in 1957.
Last season in Buffalo, the Bulls welcomed their new conference foe with a 9-3 overtime decision.
