• Temple Game Captains: #93 DE Leyon Azubuike (defense),#9 CB Anthony Ferla (defense), #13 QB Adam DiMichele (offense), and #66 RT Andre Douglas (offense).
• Flag carriers: #71 OT Jabari Ferguson, #2 ATH Daryl Robinson, #98 DT Andre Neblett.
• Special Guests: Mid-American Conference commissioner Rick Chryst, who participated in the coin toss.
• Today's game marked Temple's debut in the Mid-American Conference. After two years as an independent, the Owls resume league action for the first time since the 2004 season. TU played 14 seasons as a member of the Big East.
• Temple's last win in conference play was a 34-24 decision over Syracuse on Nov. 13, 2004, at Lincoln Financial Field.
• Fifteen freshmen, including 14 true freshmen, saw action in today's game. Two (LG Lloyd Codada and OLB Amara Kamara) received starting nods.
• Junior DB Georg Coleman's interception in the first quarter was his first this season and the third of his career.
• True freshman Daryl Robinson's 38-yard catch, his career long to date, in the second quarter was his second reception of the game and just the third of his collegiate career.
• Sophomore LB John Haley recovered a fumble, the third of his career, for the second consecutive game.
• True freshman Amara Kamara's fumble recovery in the third, which averted a Buffalo touchdown, was the first of his career.
