DAYTON, OHIO-Temple (7-9) will look to break Dayton's 14-game winning streak when it travel to Ohio on Saturday for the beginning of the 2008 Atlantic 10 season.  Dayton (14-2) has been idle since January 2 after stringing together a school record 14 straight victories.  The Flyers dropped their first two contests of the year and then rebounded with the winning streak.

Temple is 13-12 all-time in Atlantic 10 openers and has won the last four straight.  Dawn Staley is 6-1 in Conference openers.

Temple lost its third consecutive game with a 68-54 decision to Florida on January 5.  Normally starters, sophomore LaKeisha Eaddy and senior Lady Comfort came off the bench for 14 points each. Comfort also grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Overall, Temple out-rebounded the Gators, 38-34. The Owls shot 35.7 percent from the field, while Florida shot 43.9 percent. TU committed 23 turnovers.

Ashley Morris leads Temple in scoring and assists, averaging 15.1 ppg and dishing 56 assists.  She also leads Temple in three-point shooting, making 34.3% of her attempts.  Comfort is averaging 8.8 ppg and a team-high 8.3 rpg.  Eaddy has a team-high 24 steals. 

Most recently, Dayton defeated St. Francis (Pa.), 80-64 on January 2.  Four Flyers reached double figures in scoring led by Nikki Oakland's sixth double-double of the season. The senior tallied a game-best 17 points and 11 rebounds to along with three assists and two blocks. Kiki Lund and Brittany Holterman finished with 14 and 11 points respectively for the Flyers which hit on 52.7 percent (29-of-55) shots from the field. Lund drilled 4-of-7 shots from beyond the arc while Holterman added five rebounds of her own. Kendel Ross reached double figures in scoring for the second straight game with 11 points.

Oakland leads Dayton in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 ppg and 7.7 rpg.  Holterman is also averaging double figures, posting 11.6 ppg.  Kara Cloxton has dished a team-high 69 assists thus far this season.

Series Record
This is the 16th meeting between the Temple Owls and the Dayton Flyers, with Dayton leading the series, 8-7.  Temple has won the last six meetings, including last year, 68-50, on February 4, 2007.
