PHILADELPHIA-The 2008 Temple women's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10 according to a vote of the Conference's head coaches. 2007 A-10 champion Richmond was picked to repeat as the victor, while Massachusetts was predicted to finish second.
The Owls finished the 2007 season with a 6-11 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the A-10. After defeating Richmond during the regular season for the first time since 2004, the Spiders avenged the loss by topping Temple, 13-6, in the Conference semifinals.
Senior Allison Frengs ('07) was voted to the A-10's First Team, while Casey Cech ('07), Hillary Richards and Berkley Summerlin were selected to the Second Team.
The Owls begin their season on February 23 when they host perennial powerhouse Penn State at 1 p.m. on Geasey Field.
