Former Women's Basketball Standout Harold To Be Inducted Into Big Five Hall Of Fame

PHILADELPHIA -Former Temple women's basketball standout Claudrena Harold will be inducted into the Philadelphia Big Five Hall of Fame, as announced by the Conference office. Harold, along with LaSalle's Donnie Carr, Saint Joseph's Rap Curry and Penn's James "Boonie" Salters, will be honored at a luncheon held at the Palestra on Friday, January 18th. The Class of 2008 will also be recognized at halftime of the Saint Joseph's-Penn game on Saturday, January 19th.
Harold ended a stellar three-year career (1994-97) at Temple with 1,251 points and currently ranks ninth on the school's all-time scoring list. A three-time All-Big 5 honoree, she led the Owls in scoring in every season she played and had a single game high of 33 points against St. Bonaventure. Her hard work in the classroom earned her a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team in 1997. Harold was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and starred at Ribault High School.
The awards luncheon will take place from 12-2 p.m. at the University of Pennsylvania's Palestra.
