Women's Soccer Falls To Saint Louis, 2-0

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis’ Kelly Waeckerle and Lauren Olson scored a goal apiece to lead the Billikens, 2-0, over the Temple women’s soccer team (2-8-3, 0-3-2) on Sunday afternoon.

Waeckerle gave SLU the only goal it would need at the 16:08 mark. Sally Sinclair  lofted a long pass from the midfield toward the goal, and Waeckerle waited patiently to remain onside. She then controlled the ball and tapped it past Temple keeper Kara Williams from seven yards away.

Olson put the Billikens up 2-0 after heading a pass from Kristen Sapienza.

Williams had two saves on the day.  Cori Gallagher and Meridith Crowell each took two shots for the Owls.

Temple returns to action on Friday, hosting La Salle at 3 p.m.
