PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regional Championships this weekend, hosted by Penn. Junior Elyse Steiner took on Harvard's Laura Peterzan in the singles main draw but fell in a tough three-set match, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.

In singles qualifying, senior Dina Senkina won her first match over Cornell's Elizabeth Googe, 6-3, 6-1 before falling Richmond's Kelly Tidwell, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3). Also in singles qualifying, sophomore Lucie Pazderova fell to Richmond's Eric Clark, 6-1, 6-1.

In the doubles main draw, Pazderova and Senkina lost to Princeton's Melissa Sainotz and Lauren McHale, 8-6.

"We competed well despite being a little under the weather," head coach Steve Mauro said. "We look forward to heading to Darmouth in two weeks."

Temple will complete its fall schedule on November 7-9 at the Darmouth Big Green Invitational.
