Under the direction of third-year head coach Al Golden, Temple stands 3-5 overall and 2-3 in Mid-American Conference play. The Owls moved into second place in the MAC East standings following a 14-10 come-from-behind win over Ohio on Oct. 21 at Lincoln Financial Field.

Returning 20 seniors and 26 juniors, Temple returns 21 starters this season and the top defense in the MAC. TEMPLE-NAVY CONNECTIONS
Navy offensive line coach Ashley Ingram served as a graduate assistant coach at Temple during the 1998 season. He is in his first year with the Midshipmen. Ingram served as the offensive coordinator at Bucknell during the 2006 season, the same year TU's defensive line coach Jared Backus was the defensive coordinator for the Bison.

Navy secondary coach Danny O'Rourke earned his master's degree in education administration at Temple in 2002. He served as graduate assistant to the director of football operations for the Owls in 1999.

TEMPLE-NAVY-- THE SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the ninth meeting between the Owls and Midshipmen with the series tied at four wins each. In the season opener last fall, Navy claimed a 30-19 win at Lincoln Financial Field before a then-Temple record crowd of 30,368 for the stadium.

During Al Golden's first season, Navy defeated the Owls 42-6 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in what was the final regular-season game for TU. It marked the second straight season that Temple closed its season with a loss at Navy (38-17, 2005). Prior to the 2005 season, the Owls had won two straight under head coach Bobby Wallace, defeating Charlie Weatherbie led teams in Annapolis in 2000 (17-6) and at Franklin Field in 2001 (45-26). The Midshipmen beat the Ron Dickerson-led Owls 49-17 in 1997 to earn their first win in the series. Temple won the first meeting by a 12-7 margin in 1988 under Bruce Arians before capturing the second meeting by a 21-14 score in 1991 under Jerry Berndt. The Cherry & White is 2-3 all-time in Annapolis.
