Four Players Finish Undefeated In Singles At Dartmouth

HANOVER, NH - Four players went undefeated in singles play to highlight an impressive showing for the Temple women's tennis team this weekend at the Dartmouth Big Green Invitational. Senior Dina Senkina, juniors Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova and Christine Clermont, and sophomore Theresa Stangl did not drop a singles match, while Stangl added a 3-0 mark in doubles as well.
"It was a great way to finish up the fall season," head coach Steve Mauro said. "The girls really responded against some tough competition."
Senkina completed a 3-0 singles mark in the tourney on Sunday with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Syracuse's Harman at #2. Rukavyshnykova did the same with her 6-1, 6-1 win over Syracuse's Kalhorn at #4 and Clermont won 6-1, 6-1 over Syracuse's Haycock at #5.
Stangl was a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Syracuse's Ford at #7. Stangl also teamed with sophomore Lucie Pazderova for an 8-4 victory over Syracuse's Tang and Ford.
Other singles victories for Temple came from junior Elyse Steiner at #1, who beat Tan, 6-4, 6-3. Overall on Sunday, the Owls were 5-2 against the Orange in singles and 3-1 in doubles play.
In doubles, Senkina-Steiner beat Tan-Harman, 9-7. Pazderova-Stangl won 8-4 over Tang-Ford, and sophomore Josephine Bergman and senior Felicia Frazier won 8-2 over Haynes-Haycock.
The defending Atlantic 10 Champions return to the court on January 28 at Princeton.
