Women's Soccer Defeats George Washington 2-1 on Senior Day

AMBLER, PA - The Women's Soccer team ended their season in thrilling fashion on Sunday against George Washington. Senior Charisma Wright scored unassisted in overtime to lift the Owls past George Washington, 2-1. The Cherry and White finish their season 4-11-4, 2-6-3 in the Atlantic 10, while George Washington falls to 7-11-0, 2-6-3.

Senior Charisma Wright was the fuel for the late momentum in the Owls offense. Wright found sophomore Amanda Vogelman from 30 yards out in the 78th minute, sending the game into overtime.

Wright struck again in overtime, beating the Colonials defense late in the first overtime. The senior managed to steal the ball inside the box and beat Colonials keeper Lindsey Rowe with a blast to her left from six yards out.

Senior Tiffany Kasunich made her first start of the season in goal for the Owls. Kasunich made five saves on the day, allowing only one goal in her final start.

Prior to the game, Kasunich, Wright, and fellow seniors Cori Gallagher, Jenna Rankin, Liz Allan, Katrina Lynch, and Wendy Halina were honored for their hard work during their tenures with the Owls. The Cherry and White end their season 4-11-4, 2-6-3 in the Atlantic 10.
