PHILADELPHIA - Temple senior FB Marcellous Grigsby (Sacramento, Calif.) has earned OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week honors.
In Temple's 27-6 win over Akron in the season finale on Friday, Grigsby rushed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, the first touchdowns of his collegiate career.
With the victory, the Owls finish the 2008 season with five wins, surpassing last season's win total of four games. The five wins are Temple's most since the 1990 season when the Owls finished 7-4 overall. The five wins mark the first time since the 2002 season that the Owls have won four or more games in back-to-back seasons.
Temple finished second in the Mid-American Conference East Division with a 4-4 record, matching its record from 2007. It is the first time in school history that Temple has won at least four conference games in back-to-back seasons.
