Women's Tennis Goes 2-for-2 This Weekend

The Temple women's tennis team beat Richmond on Friday and Old Dominion on Saturday to improve their record to 4-2 overall. Temple split the singles matches against both opponents but came out on top after getting the doubles point each time to go undefeated over the weekend.
Coach Jill Breslin was very pleased with with both wins, "I am very proud and impressed with the team's effort this past weekend. Richmond and ODU are two very solid teams who made us fight for every point." Breslin also said the doubles results didn't come as an accident, "We have been focusing hard on improving our doubles throughout the season so it was great to get the results."
Junior Dina Senkina went a perfect 4-0 at second singles and doubles on the weekend. A trio of sophomores Elyse Steiner, Christine Clermont and Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova posted 3-1 records. Junior Felicia Frazier also won her only match of the weekend. Freshmen Lucie Pazderova and Theresa Stangl teamed for a key win in the No. 1 doubles match against Old Dominion with an 8-6 victory. The Owls did all of this without freshman Josephine Bergman who will be an integral part of Temple's success the rest of the season.
The Owls don't play again until next weekend when they travel to Columbia on Friday for a 4:30 PM start time. They will come back home on Saturday to face UMBC at Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
