TEMPE, ARIZ. - The Temple softball team fell just short of a winning record at the Kajikawa Classic, falling to Oklahoma State 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Owls finish the Kajikawa Classic at 2-3.

Junior Katie Burdeaux registered the only hit for the Cherry and White on the day. The Cowgirls got a strong performance from freshman hurler Amanda Crabtree, as she tossed a complete game shutout.

Freshmen Amanda Branco (0-2) pitched well in defeat against the talented Cowgirls. She allowed two earned runs on four hits in two and two-thirds innings. Senior Brianna Dairy continued her strong start to the season, pitching two innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. The Owls were ultimately doomed by three errors on the day.Burdeaux allowed two hits in one and one-thirs innings.

The Cowgirls took control of the game early on. They got their first run when Alysia Hamilton doubled home Katelyn Bright to make 1-0 in the first inning. They tacked on two more runs following an error by junior Courtney Norene, making the score 3-0 in the first frame.

The Owls (2-3) return to action next Friday when they face North Texas in College Station, Texas. Action is slated to begin at 1:15 p.m.
