Women's Basketball Takes Final Regular Season Road Trip To Saint Louis

SAINT LOUIS- The women's basketball team (17-11, 10-2 A-10) takes its final road trip of the regular season when it travels to Saint Louis (10-17, 5-7 A-10) on Wednesday. Game time is set for 8 p.m. EST. The Owls are currently in a three-way tie for first place in the A-10 with Xavier and George Washington and enter Missouri riding a three-game winning streak.
Series Record
This is the third meeting between the Temple Owls and the Saint Louis Billikens. Temple leads the series, 2-0. The teams last played on February 15, 2007, when the Owls defeated the Billikens, 74-64.
Temple captured it third straight win with a 65-46 win over Fordham on Saturday. Temple jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but Fordham rallied back to tie, 6-6. The Rams then took their only lead of the game, 8-6 before the Owls went on a 6-0 run to lead 14-8. Temple went on a 13-4 run to take a double-digit lead, 27-17. TU led by as many as 15 points and entered the locker room with a 13-point edge, 38-25. In the second half, Temple pushed its lead to as many as 22 points while playing its bench. Lady Comfort led the Owls with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Shanea Cotton and LaKeisha Eaddy added 10 points each.
Ashley Morris leads Temple in scoring and assists, averaging 15.1 ppg and dishing 114 assists. Comfort is averaging 9.4 ppg and a team-high 8.2 rpg. Shenita Landry is posting a solid defensive effort of 25 blocks and 32 steals but Eaddy is tops in thefts with 40.
Erica Schiefen's layup with six seconds left gave St. Bonaventure a 64-63 victory over Saint Louis Sunday. Katelyn Murray found Schiefen open underneath for the game-winning basket, capping a 12-2 run for the Bonnies that spanned the final 4:59. Theresa Lisch managed to launch a decent shot from the baseline for a Billiken win, but the attempt was just off the mark. Amanda Kemezys finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Lisch and Katie Paganelli tallied 14 points apiece. Hayley Leake scored all nine of her points following intermission. Lisch led all players with a career-high 12 rebounds as the Billikens earned a 35-28 advantage on the glass. Nine of SLU's 11 offensive boards came in the second half.
Lisch leads three Billikens in double figures, averaging 17.1 ppg. Paganelli is chipping in with 12.3 ppg and Kemezys is tallying 11.1 ppg and a team-high 7.9 rpg. Leake is dishing a team-high 88 assists.
Tonight is also the final event in the Bauman-Eberhardt Center, also known as "West Pine Gym," for Saint Louis athletics, which moves into Chaifetz Arena this spring.
