PHILADELPHIA - The Temple softball returns to the field after nearly a month-long break to begin the home campaign with a double-header against Delaware State tomorrow starting at 2:30 from Ambler Sports Complex.
The Owls (4-6) home campaign finally takes flight after the Cherry and White opened the season road trips to Arizona and Texas. While facing some of the most talented teams in the country, the Owls upset then #25 Oregon State 4-2, marking the first victory over a Pac-10 school in Temple softball history.
Senior Natalie Wagner and junior Courtney Norene have been the leaders at the plate for the Owls in the early season. Wagner leads the team in average (.346), hits (9) and RBI (7) while Norene leads the team with 3 home runs, including the game winner over #25 Oregon State. Senior Brianna Dairy has started the season on fire at the mound, posting a 3-2 record with 21 strikeouts and a 2.88 ERA.
The Owls are at home this weekend as well, as they open up Atlantic 10 play with a double-header with Saint Bonaventure on Saturday. Action is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
