PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Owls dropped three matches and two others went to the third set but they were still able to pick up a convincing 5-2 victory. Temple has now won 11 straight matches, bringing their record to 11-2. Despite having returned from Florida recently the Cherry and White were able to avoid a hangover and take care of business against Duquesne.
Dina Senkina and Josephine Bergman teamed up to win another match in doubles, after going 3-0 on their trip to Florida. Lucie Pazderova and Theresa Stangl added the other victory in doubles to earn Temple the doubles point. Numbers 3 through 6 in singles were all winners for Temple. Felicia Frazier won her first set, lost the second and then dominated in the third winning 6-0 and getting an important point for the Owls. Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova's match went to the third set but she was able to pull it out 7-5.
The Owls are obviously playing great tennis, winning 11 in a row. Different people are stepping up for Temple every match which will make it difficult for an opponent to snap their winning streak. Their next match is today at 3:00 p.m. against Villanova. The match will be the first for the women's tennis team at the Temple Pavilion.
