PHILADELPHIA, PA - Temple went 1-1 over the weekend and their 11 game winning streak was snapped by Penn State. The Owls lost 6-1 to the Nittany Lions but rebounded well against the Red Storm of St. John's, defeating them 4-3. The weekend record brings Temple's record to 12-3.
Temple was dominated in the Penn State matchup, only winning one of nine matches. Dina Senkina was the only winner for the Owls against PSU. Head coach Jill Breslin was proud of how the team was able to turn it around, "The team stepped it up today against St. John's. It was nice to see them come back with such tenacity after their loss to Penn State."
Temple won two of three doubles matches against St. John's after losing all three against Penn State. The Owls split singles matches with the Red Storm. Christine Clermont, Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova, and Felicia Frazier all provided wins in singles competition for the Owls. Frazier's win clenched the match for the Owls.
Temple will look to start another winning streak against Massachusetts on April 5. The match will be held at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center and will begin at 2:00 p.m.
