Women's Lacrosse Takes West Coast Road Trip

PHILADELPHIA- After opening the season with an upset of #14 Penn State, the Temple women's lacrosse team hopes to continue its winning ways when it travels to the West Coast March 6-13. The Owls will face off against Cal-Berkeley, Oregon, St. Mary's College and UC-Davis.
The Owls begin play on March 6 in the East West Challenge, a tournament featuring Temple, Cal-Berkeley, Oregon, Notre Dame, USC and UCLA. TU kicks off its trip against Cal-Berkeley (1-2) March 6 at 6 p.m. (PST), which is the first part of a double-header taking place at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego. It is the first time that NCAA women's lacrosse will be played as a featured event in Southern California. The tournament continues on Saturday, March 8th, when Temple takes on #20/19 Oregon (4-1) at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena at 4 p.m. (PST).
The East West Challenge games in Pasadena will be played inside the Rose Bowl while a 48 high school team plays on the recreation fields outside the Rose Bowl. This event is the Rose Bowl Jamboree, and it is run by the L.A. Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse. Players from all the teams will be going back and forth all day playing their own lacrosse and watching one of the highest levels of lacrosse available, second only to international play.
Temple then travels north for the second leg of its trip, facing St. Mary's College on March 11 and UC-Davis on March 20th.
Tickets for the East West Challenge are available at the price of $15 for adults, $10 for students and U.S. Lacrosse members while children 10 & under are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster or at each of the venues starting one hour before the first game of the day.
